Screen share link

The page a caller opens to watch your screen while you talk: no sign-in, just the screen.

Where to find it

Screen share link (/s/…)

Screen share viewing page: the shared screen, or a message while connecting (desktop)

Steps

  1. During a call, share your screen and send the viewing link (see “Share your screen with a caller”).
  2. The caller opens the link. It shows “Connecting…” and then “Waiting for the screen…”.
  3. Once connected, your screen appears. The caller should keep the page open.
  4. When you stop sharing, the page says “The share has finished.”

Troubleshooting

It says “Nothing is being shared at that link. It may have finished, or the link may be out of date.”

The share has ended or the link is old. Start a new share and send the new link.

It says “Somebody else is already watching this share.”

Only one person can watch a share. Start another share for a second viewer.

It says “We could not make the connection. Please tell the person who sent you this link — their system may need a relay configured.”

A strict firewall on one side blocked the connection. A relay server, set by your platform operator, is needed.

Tips

  • The caller needs only a browser; nothing to install.

Good to know

  • One viewer per share.
  • The viewer sees the screen only, without sound.
