Import contacts from a CSV
Add a whole list of contacts at once by pasting CSV text.
Where to find it
Campaigns › Prospects › Import
Open this screen
Steps
- Open Campaigns › Prospects and press “Import”.
- Optionally choose a “Campaign” the new contacts should belong to.
- Replace the example in the text box with your CSV. The first line is the header: company, contact_name, phone, email, country, city.
- Press “Import”. A toast says how many contacts were imported.
Settings on this screen
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | The call campaign every imported contact is put in. | None |
| CSV text box | Your list, one contact per line, columns separated by commas, with the header row first. The box starts with a one-line example to replace. | — |
Troubleshooting
Fewer contacts were imported than the lines I pasted.
Lines with neither a contact name nor a company, lines whose number cannot be read, and numbers already in your phone book are passed over. See “CSV import skipped some contacts”.
Tips
- Write numbers with the country code, or fill the country column so a local number can be read.
- A number already on your do-not-call list is imported at the stage “Do not call” instead of being dropped.
- In a spreadsheet, save as CSV and paste the text; quoted fields with commas inside are not supported.
Good to know
- The box reads plain comma-separated text; there is no file upload on this screen.
- Agents and managers can both import.
