Build a segment of contacts from rules
Make a call list from rules on the contact record, see how many contacts it catches before saving, and keep it for a campaign.
Where to find it
Calls › Outbound ops › Segments
Open this screen
Steps
- Open Calls › Outbound ops and the Segments tab.
- Set the first rule: a field (Country, City, Industry, Stage, Tier, Source, Deal value, Company, Job title or Attempts so far), a condition (is, is not, contains, more than, less than, at least, at most) and a value.
- Press Add a rule for more rules, and choose Within campaign to limit it to one campaign (or Any campaign).
- Check the count under the rules ("… contacts match") and the example names.
- Type Name this segment and press Save segment. Remove in the list deletes a saved segment.
Settings on this screen
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Rules | Field, condition and value, all of which must match. | Stage is new |
| Within campaign | Limits the segment to one campaign's contacts. | Any campaign |
| Name this segment | The saved segment's name (managers). | — |
Troubleshooting
Save segment is greyed out.
It stays off while no contact matches. Change the rules until the count is above zero.
"Give the segment a name"
Type a name before pressing Save segment.
"ignored:" appears after the count.
A rule the server could not use was left out of the count; check its field and value.
Tips
- The count updates as you type, so a list is never saved without somebody having seen who it catches.
Good to know
- Saving and removing segments needs the admin or manager role.
