Request a phone number
Ask CallDesk for a new phone number for your organisation; once it is connected, route it to a line.
Where to find it
Settings › Phone numbers › Request a phone number
Open this screen
Steps
- Open Settings › Phone numbers and find Request a phone number.
- Choose a Number type. Each type shows whether it is included in your plan or what CallDesk tells you about the price.
- If the type asks for one, choose an Area.
- Add a Note (optional): preferred digits, area, or anything CallDesk should know.
- Press Submit request. Nothing is charged when you submit.
- Follow the request's status in the list: Waiting for CallDesk, Connected, Not possible or Cancelled. Once Connected, route the number to a line in Number inventory.

Troubleshooting
"Only an owner or admin of this organisation can request a phone number."
Ask your organisation's owner or an administrator to submit it.
"Too many requests are waiting. Cancel one or wait for CallDesk to process them."
Cancel a request you no longer need, or wait.
"Write the area you want in the note."
You chose the other-area option: write the area in Note (optional).
The request says Not possible.
CallDesk could not provide that number. The reason is shown under the status.
Tips
- The card says how many numbers your plan includes and how many are in use or requested.
