Set a line's business hours

Set when a caller who asks for a person can be put through; outside these hours your AI agent says nobody can come to the phone and keeps helping.

Where to find it

Settings › Phone lines › Settings › Business hours (or step 1 of the Setup wizard)

Open this screen
The Set a line's business hours screen on a computer

Steps

  1. Open Settings › Phone lines, press Settings on the line, then Edit under Business hours.
  2. Choose the Timezone.
  3. For each day press Open this day and set the opening and closing times. Press Add a second session for a lunch break, and the cross to remove a session.

Open this dayOpens a day with one session; a day without sessions is closed all day.—
Add a second sessionA second session on the same day, for example after a lunch break. Two sessions per day at most.—
Copy Monday to Tuesday–FridayCopies Monday's sessions to Tuesday to Friday.—

Troubleshooting

A save is refused with a message about the times.

A session must close after it opens, and two sessions on one day must not overlap. Fix the day named in the message.

Tips

  • In the Setup wizard, step 1 also offers Open 24 hours, or one opening and closing time on the days you tick.
  • Business hours are not read out to callers. They decide when a caller can be put through to a person.

Good to know

  • Public holidays and one-off closures are set under Inbound ops › Holidays & emergency.
