A campaign will not send

Switched off until an operator turns it on

Understand why “Send now” is off or refused, and what has to change.

Where to find it

Campaigns › New campaign

Open this screen
A campaign's details with Send now greyed out and the reason underneath.

Steps

  1. Hover over “Send now”, or open the campaign's details: the reason is shown under the button.
  2. Find the reason below. Switches and connections are set by an operator; content problems you fix yourself.
  3. Fix the content, or keep the campaign as a draft until the operator has switched sending on.

Troubleshooting

“Sending campaigns is switched off on this service. Nothing was sent.”

LINE is connected, but the operator's switch for campaign sending is off. Nothing is sent until the operator switches it on.

“Sending is not connected yet. Nothing was sent.”

No messaging provider is connected for your organisation. The campaign stays a draft.

“This organisation's LINE account is not connected to Call yet. Nothing was sent.”

Your LINE account has to be connected and linked to your organisation first.

“SMS sending isn't enabled yet: the operator has not switched SMS campaigns on for this service. Nothing was sent.”

SMS is off on the whole service until an operator turns it on.

“SMS sending isn't enabled yet: SMS campaigns are not enabled for this organisation. Nothing was sent.”

The operator has not enabled SMS campaigns for your organisation.

“SMS sending isn't enabled yet: …no Twilio account… / …no public address… / …no Twilio number that can send SMS.”

A connection the operator sets up is missing. Nothing was sent.

“Nobody can be reached on LINE yet…” / “Nobody can receive this SMS: no contact has SMS consent on file…”

Nobody on that channel can receive it yet: on LINE only people who messaged you first; by SMS only contacts with consent on file.

“Write the message before sending.” / “Replace the placeholders with real text before sending…”

Write the message and replace any {placeholder} other than the allowed variables.

“The message is too long: at most 10 SMS segments.”

Shorten the SMS until the counter shows 10 segments or fewer.

“This would go over the organisation's daily SMS limit. Nothing was sent.”

Your organisation reached its daily SMS limit. Try again tomorrow or send to fewer people.

“An SMS campaign reaches at most 2,000 people.” / “This organisation has reached its campaign limit.”

Split the audience, or remove old campaigns (500 per organisation).

Tips

  • Saving as a draft always works; it sends nothing.

Good to know

  • No refused campaign is recorded as sent. SMS stays off until an operator turns it on.
