AI inbound calls

Check that your AI agent answers calls to your numbers: each line's status, its call language, the carrier's activity and the latest calls.

Where to find it

Calls › AI inbound calls (Easy mode: Voice › Inbound calls)

Open this screen
AI inbound calls: tiles, the line status table, carrier connection, self-test, voice and language per line, carrier and call activity.

Steps

  1. Open “AI inbound calls” under Calls (in Easy mode, “Inbound calls” under Voice).
  2. Read the tiles: “Phone lines” (and how many your AI agent answers), “Total calls”, “Last 7 days” and “Positive”.
  3. Under “1 · Status”, each line shows “Your AI agent answers”, “Switched on, but not ready” (with the first missing item) or “Your AI agent makes calls”. “Settings” opens the line's settings.
  4. Under “3 · Voice & language”, choose each line's “Main language for calls” (managers); it is saved at once. “AI voices” changes the voice.
  5. Press “Test call” at the top (or in “Self-test”) to open the setup wizard and try your line with a test call.
  6. Check “Carrier activity” and “Call activity” to see what reached your numbers; “Call log” opens Call history.

Settings on this screen

SettingWhat it doesDefault
Test callOpens the setup wizard, where test calls are placed.—
1 · StatusEach line's state and its “Settings” button; “Phone lines” opens the list of lines.—
2 · Connection to the carrierWhen the carrier last sent a request. CallDesk connects your numbers to the carrier; there is no webhook for you to set.—
Main language for callsThe language the AI agent greets callers in on that line, and keeps speaking. It changes only when a caller asks for another language, or speaks two full sentences in a row in another one. Managers change it; others read it.—
Prompt & voice — inboundSays whether calls are answered from the linked agent's prompt and knowledge base; “All agents” opens the agents.—
Carrier activity / Call activityThe last requests from the carrier and the last calls with status and sentiment.—

Troubleshooting

“No inbound queue yet. Create one under Queues & SLA first.”

There is no line yet. Create one under Queues & SLA, then set it up on Phone lines.

A line shows “Switched on, but not ready”.

Read the sentence under it, for example “This line has no phone number yet.”, and fix that item in the line's settings.

“This number is not saved in international format (+ and the country code first), so a call to it may not reach this line. Change it on Phone lines.”

Save the number with + and the country code on Phone lines.

“There is no phone voice for {language} yet, so calls to this line start in Japanese.”

That language has no phone voice yet; choose another language, or keep it knowing calls begin in Japanese.

“Telephony is in simulator mode, so no real call reaches this line yet.”

This service is not connected to a real phone service yet; the operator connects it.

“No call to your numbers has reached CallDesk yet. Place one call, then reload this page.”

Call one of your numbers once, then reload to see the carrier's request.

Tips

  • To have the agent call out instead, use Outbound call agents.

Good to know

  • This page reads your lines and calls and changes only each line's call language; everything else is changed on Phone lines, AI voices and All agents. A line’s call language is also the language of the AI agent that answers it, so changing it here changes the agent’s too.
